Denise, I have found out more about our Conroys. They too were from Galway, but we do not know the city. However, I feel that it is NOT a coincidence that they came to the Syracuse area. Could it be that our Patrick Conroy was an uncle to your Mary Conroy. Our Hannah Walsh an aunt to your Patrick Walsh. Either is possible or logical. Do you have parents or grandparents for your Mary Conroy from Kylemore, County Galway. Our Conroy/Walsh emigrated in 1855. We do know form the 1900 census and family lore that they were illiterate, in other words, peasants who were uneducated at that time. Now to family names of Patrick and Hannah's children: Mary married Harry Randall, girl children married Powell, Fitzgerald and Quinlan Catherine marriedJohn C. Kennedy -1874(our line), girls married Hayes,Lawless Annie married William McLaughlin Nellie married William Hayes, girls married Fitzpatrick and Miller Our Conroys and most of their children, grandchildren lived in the Marcellus, Syracuse, Skaneateles area all their lives.
