I've just reread your string of messages. So glad that you've had some luck in finding Thomas and Mary's children.

My great-grandfather was a Thomas Conroy/Conry (b. ca. 1847) who was a tailor and lived in the Ballandine and Claremorris areas of South Mayo. His father was James Conry, also a tailor, but we have no dates for him. His name is known only from his sons' marriage certificates.

The information about my great-great-grandfather James Conry was provided to me by the South Mayo Family History Research Center. Have you considered contacting them to do a search for you? You'll have to pay, of course, but it's not too terribly expensive, and the family history centers in Ireland have so much of their information entered into a database.

I'd suggest that you also investigate Co. Galway as the point of origin for your Thomas Conroy. My reasearch has shown that there were MANY Conroy AND Flaherty families in the section of westernmost Galway between Ballinrobe and Clifden.

If I locate anything that might be specific to your family, I'll let you know.
