Hi Kelly,
I don't know if there is any connection or not but my ancestor was Edward Conroy (born about 1794 Ireland) who married Rose Ann Sheilds. Their family came to Canada aboard the Prompt in 1820. They had 8 children that I am aware of.

In the 1851 Canada census, Beauharnois Cty, Hemmingford, Quebec, it shows a Patrick (1832), Lawrence (1840), Mary (1842) & Ann (1845) all born in Ireland.

Where in Ontario did the rest of the family go? Maybe they came later to join family already in Canada?

Cindy
