Dear Brenda - I'm so happy that you connected with Mike McCardel's page - He has put mega hours into collating and distributing Conroy family info - and the photos are absolutely wonderful - It was on his page- that I was able to clearly see Mickey's face - for the first time.

I realize how crazy this sounds - but, until January - when Raymond told me - that Mickey's name was NOT Michael Joseph Conroy - as it appears on our birth certificates. Mike McC shows him as Marcus Coleman Conroy - others sources refer to him as Michael Marcus Coleman Conroy - Many years ago - I attempted to get a military grave marker - But, was told they had no record of him - My birth certificate states that he was a petty officer in the CBs - WWII - and I had heard several variations of stories regarding his substantial injuries - There is no doubt however, that he did sustain a life threating injury which basically resulted in him being literally torn in half - Tommy said he spent a lot of time at the VA Hospital (possibly in Pittsburgh) - The only logical conclusion is that he used alias(es) at various times in his life

Our grand & great-grandmothers, as well as their daughters were known for not only their beauty - but their wit.

About my writing; until about five years ago my writing was most limited to professional publications & training manuals - first as a paralegal - later in the area of business administration & management. . .Boorrring!

I started writing seriously about 5 years ago and am just now coming to the point where I have committed to finishing "In Defense of Sir John" - by the end of this year -- Funny thing - I'm writing about an obscure distant relative - Sir John Conroy -- When I ran into barriers in locating info about my own father - I sort of adopted Sir John - Through his lineage - we can trace our anscestory back to 1628 - It's an interesting story & and a bit of a riddle -- It appears there is much mystery - both with Sir John & Mickey Conroy
-- It also appears that at least one person from each generation is surrounded in myth and mystery - Sure make for great writing

Love K.

P.S. YOU CAN SCREAM AT ME IF YOU WISH!
