People are forgetting that a very early form of Conrad was Coonradt or Conradt. Heinrich Coonradt came to America from the Palatinate in 1712. He settled in Rensselaerwick in 1734. Willheim and Philipp Coonradt came to America
in 1727 and also settled in Rensselaerwick. Some of their descendants retained the spelling and some became Conrad. And some became Coonrod.
