A biography/family history and portrait of William G. Conrad are included in "Progressive Men of the State of Montana". Parents: Col. James W. and Maria (Ashby) Conrad, born respectively in Germany and Virginia. In 1876, William married Miss Fannie E. Bowen, of Virginia, daughter of Hon. Paul L. Bowen, of Virginia. Conrad children: Maria Josephine, Minnie Atkisson, George Harfield, Arthur Franklin, and William Lee, d. 1878, age one.
