I'm looking for an ancestor named McCoy Conner (DOB about 1840, DOD 4/7/1862 in Wilson Hospital during Civil War) married to Mary Williams. I have evidence of his enlistment as Private on 3/14/1862 in Henderson County, NC with Co. A, NC 25th Infantry Regiment. He and Mary had 2 sons that I'm aware of: 1) William Washington Conner (DOB 9/15/1860 in Madison County, NC; DOD 9/29/1939 in Madison County, NC according to death certificate his father was Mack Conner and his mother was Mary Rhodes) and he married Lydia Kate Fisher. 2) Mack Coy Conner (7/24/1861 in Henderson County, NC; DOD 7/2/1950 in Madison County, NC according to his death certificate his father was Mack Conner and his mother was Mary Williams). Mack Coy Conner married Margaret Alice Ensley and Loretta Gentry. I'm descended from Mack Coy Conner and Margaret Alice Ensley through their oldest daughter, Lillian "Lillie or Lilly" Vianna Conner Reese.

I have been combing 1850 and 1860 Census for Madison and Henderson Counties, NC but cannot find McCoy (or Mack Coy) and Mary Conner. I haven't found Mary Williams (or Rhodes) Conner's death either. If you can help me, I would appreciate it. 2minidogs@charter.net
