We may be related. I trace my ancestry from a Martin Connors B 1806 in Limerick, Tipperary, or Offaly. Martin named one of his sons Stephen.

I searched the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,000,000 surviving rcds for abt 65% of Irish counties. Rcds B4 1840 are sparse.

For Ellen Connors (+variants) B 1845 +/- 4 yrs, I found 212 B rcds.
For Ellen Connors (exact) B 1845 +/- 4 yrs, I found 99 B rcds.
For Ellen Connors (exact) B 1845 +/- 4 yrs with a father named Stephen, I found 1 B rcd in 1849 in Limerick. Stephen is a rare forename in Ireland. This looks promising.

For Stephen Connors M 1844 +/- 4 yrs in all Ireland, I found 3 M rcd: 1844, 1845 & 1848. For Ellen Bennett M ditto, I found 4 M rcds: 1841, 1844, 1846, & 1846. The two 1844 rcds occurred in different counties. Therefore there isn't a match.

For a marriage of Ellen and Thomas in 1863 +/- 2 yrs, I found 17 M rcds for Ellen and 69 M rcds for Thomas. Seven of these occurred in the same yr AND county. Will let you duplicate this search and do a more detailed screen by parish.

Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Register, opt to be notified as rcds are added, and browse. Pls post your search results to this genforum msg.

Good luck.
