Hey Susan,

Good to hear back from you!!! We have a Thomas Conners who had an argument with his parent(s) and left. He was never heard from again. Our Thomas was born in 1872 in Indiana and then the family moved to live in Illinois where his younger brother John was born. John was the youngest.

By 1880 Census the family was in Missouri. That is where my g-grandma Johanna (Hannah) married my g-grandfather Phillip O'Conner. Thomas' older siblings were Mary Jordan (a half sister), Johanna Conners, Michael P Conners, Patrick Conners, James Conners, then Thomas, and last John Conners.

James Conners changed his spelling to Connors and then his son dropped off the 's'. In the family info that I have received Thomas' nickname was Black Jack.

James hired a detective to find his younger brother. He looked for a year and found no trace. I believe that we may do better now because of the internet!!! I have been looking but not very diligent because I have been on another track!

I found the youngest son, John (Jack) Charles Conners. No one knew where he lived passed the 1880 Census. I found him in New York City as a fireman with the elite Rescue 1 untit. He was hired in 1916 and retired in 1936. He died in 1940 where he had moved to CA to be with his oldest brother Michael P. Conners.

I have all death certificates on all the siblings except Thomas. I am very interested in your g-grandfather Thomas. If any of this info fits in with info you have on your Thomas. Please email me at larry2348@yahoo.com.
