I am just now starting to research my family history on my mothers side, and she was a Connors. Very was told to my mother about her mothers side of the family, as her mother died in childbirth.
The name I am trying to get information on is Nellie Francis (Powers -- maiden name) Connors. She would be my great-great-grandmother. I do not know who she married to acquire the married name Connors. I do know that she and her brother (Thomas Powers) came over from Ireland. But, again, I am still tracking that down. Should you have anything relevant to Nellie or Thomas, it would be greatly appreciated.
And, yes, I do believe a lot of the Connors came through the NYPA and straight to the various states....
