MICHAEL O’CONNOR b. abt. 1810-20, IRE m. CATHERINE MCDONALD, b. abt. 1810-20. There is some question as to where the O’Connor children came from. Frank’s obit says, Co. Sligo, Bridget’s says Co. Mayo. Michael and Catherine O’Connor had four children, Francis (Frank) b. 1852, Bridget b. 1865, Mary, and Anna before her death. When Catherine died, Michael remarried. Frank, who was about 12 years old, ran away to Liverpool where he boarded a ship for the US. He found employment in Manhattan working for Whitehead Molding Sand and Gravel headquartered in NJ. After some time he was transferred to Ushers, NY (upstate). At some point, Frank sent for his sisters as well as other family members as he could afford to do so. They changed their name at some point to CONNORS. However, the US Census shows them with an 11-yr old child under the name O'Connor. Please contact me at acorbett@ycp.edu
I'm wondering if the marriage you are showing might not be the second marriage. I’m between a rock and a hard place and would appreciate any help anyone can offer to get me back further. Thank you.
