I searched the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,000,000 surviving rcds for abt 65% of Irish counties. Rcds B4 1840 are sparse.

For Mary Small M 1874 +/- 4 yrs, I found 10 M rcds in cos. Antrim, Down, and Armagh. Ahoghill isn't listed as a parish in this database. The closest parish may be Ballymena.

For John Connor M ditto, I found 19 M rcds, nearly all in Co. Antrim.

Changing the search range to ALL yrs AND screening for a John Connor Birth with a father's name of Patrick, I found 4 B rcds: 1844, 2-1846, & 1861. One of these MAY be the rcd for your ancestor.

Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Register, opt to be notified as rcds are added, and browse. Pls post your search results to this genforum msg.

Good luck.
