A friend of mine recently passed on to me this information from the 1860 census. 1860 Pittsburgh James Connolly age 7 b. PA living w/ farmer Archibald Collister age 72 & family This James Connolly age 7 in 1860 (b. 1853) is the right age to be my Mystery Great Grandfather who married Asenah Barton in 1874 in Dutchess County, New York and who according to NY STATE Census information in 1875 was born in PA as were his parents. According to family papers James died in March 1885 and his wife in April 1885 leaving my grandmother Margaret "Maggie" b. 1879 and her sister Lillian "Lil/Lillie" b. 1875 orphans. Lillie Ann Connolly was b. June 15, 1875, Christened July 5, 1875 at St. Joachims RC Church in Fishkill Landing/Matteawan (now Beacon), Dutchess County, NY, Sponsors were John Mullady & Mary Druhan. Margaret Connolly (my grandmother)was b. Jan. 29, 1879, Christened Feb. 9, 1879 at St. Joachims RC Church in Fishkill Landing/Matteawan (now Beacon), Dutchess County, NY,Sponsors were William Flannery and Margaret Buckley. Would appreciate hearing from anyone who could assist me in my research or with whom anything here rings a bell. I would love to find James Parents and siblings. It is unknown if Archibald Collister and James Connolly were related but it appears a distinct possibility they may have been. Any clues appreciated.
