Hello, I am looking for relatives of the
Connolly's from Dundalk Ireland, County Louth.
It's 50 or so miles north of Dublin. I have
traced my relatives back to this city as far
back as the late 1700s and early 1800s. My
Great Grandfather's name was Peter, he had 8
brothers and sisters (James, Patrick, Peter, John,
Margaret, Owen, Catharine, and Thomas). It is
strange that his name was Peter and he also had an
older brother named Peter. I don't know why this
is but I have the records of the births of all nine
children. Their fathers name was Patrick Connolly,
and their mothers name was Anne Hoey (Hoye, Hoy).
I also have marriage records of these two. It is
believed that Owen and my Great Grandfather Peter
were the two that came to Baltimore, MD USA in the
1850s or 60s, during the Civil War. If anyone has
information on them please E-Mail me. Thanks.
