In several genealogies of Capt. John McKinley, there is no mention of his son, Alexander, who also fought in the Revolutionary War from Va. Alexander was a mail carrier at age 13.

My own DAR papers list Alexander was born 1764 in Ireland or Virginia, married Mary Wilson on 26 Aug. 1796 Hardy Co., VA (now West Va.) He died 1819 at Hardy County. I descend from their son, Samuel, who settled in Pickaway County, OH no doubt on or near the military land grant that was earned by his forebearers.

Yours is the first reference I have seen to parents of Mary Conley. Thank you for posting this information.
