James Connors--Born:Ireland--Civil War Medal of Honor

I am a photo historian looking for family of a James Connors who joined the 43rd NY Infantry in the Civil war and was awarded the Medla of Honor for valor at a place called Fishewrs Hill, Va, 22 September 1864. He was awarded the Medal of Honor only a few days later, on 6 October, 1864. He gallantly captured an eenmy flag during the battle.
I have learned from vast experience that family is always the best place to look for info and photos of such men. I was hoping someone in here could help me. My intesrt is merely in seeing that these men find their way into the national archives of our country, military and civil. Thgey have drifted back into a faceless obscurity they just don';t deserve.
Sincerely----Ron Tarburton
