I am a Langford/Lankford researcher. Came upon the Conner family while trying to track a widow-woman.
Bonetta Matthews Langford, wife of David Langford; daughter of Mary Matthews all of Georgia.
Bonetta married 17 May 1834, Madison Co. Mississippi William Conner. She brought to the marriage land and slaves.
The BLM has William obtaining land in Madison Co. in 1835 and 1840.

Tracked William and Bonetta on censuses.

1850 they are in Chickasaw Co. household #162 Wiliam H. age 41, born Georgia, Bonneta age 46, b. GA; also in household is Robert Conner, age 66 b. Georgia Postmaster and Mary Matthews, age 66 b. GA
Next door in #163 is A. H. Conner, age 38 b. Ga
At #165 is Gabriel Conner, age 43, b. GA

In 1860 William is in Calhoun Co. MS, h/h #4
William age 51, b. GA; Bonnetter age 56 b. GA, Sam age 10 b. MS.
At h/h #6 is Gabriel Conner, age 53 b.Ga and wife Mary age 43 born Mississippi Territory and reports first children b. Alabama.

In 1870 Gabriel Conner is on the census in Calhoun. William is not as far as I have found.

In 1880, Calhoun Co. MS Beat 5, is
Sam H. Conner age 30 b. MS; wife Lura, age 26, daughter Cora age 7; niece Emily Conner age 9; former slave Jabe Conner age 18; and William, age 72 clerk in store.

One Jabe Conner is listed next door or nearby Gabriel Conner on 1870 census.

William H. Conner is on the 1850 and 1860 Slave Schedules.
A comparison of ages and mulatto or black designation of David Langford's slaves makes me think that the 1850 schedule is listing his slaves now in possession of William Conner.

The spelling of names are messed up on the censuses as is some of the information but all in all, I believe that these families are related to one another due to proximity, ages, place of birth.

Now if only I could find David Langford's family in Georgia. He traveled through Mississippi Territory on Georgia Passport with a man named Daniel Morgan. Working from top of head and this name could be incorrect. Really need to purchase a copy of Ms. Potter's great book on Georgia Passports.

Anyhow, with the censuses available on Ancestry and Heritage Quest, interested persons can follow up on this sketch of William H. Conner and family.
