I have found a census record (1891 Prince Edward Island) that shows Patrick Charles Connolly as being born in Ireland, but no idea where.

Census results in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island (both in Canada) spell the name as Conley, Conely, Conoly and Connolly. Surprisingly his grandchildren adapted the name as Connelly.
