James Connelly ... 1850 .. TN, PA, Ireland ??

Good Grief !!!! Does anyone have a clue where this man and his family was in 1850 ?? He would be about 58 years old, would have either been born in PA or Ireland ... Might have had a wife named Ann .... Also, one son named Ephraim living with them aged 12 to 14 years old ... And, possibly a son named John aged 18. Also, he could have been living near his daughter Mary (Ritter) who was born in 1825, and she had a son named Eugene about 4 years old ...

There is a James Connelly in Davidson County, Nashville, TN in 1840 - fits the profile .. In 1860 and 1870, he is in Nashville .. Census says he was born in "PA" ... in 1880, both Ephraim and his sister Mary are still alive and in Nashville - they both claim their father was born in "Phil" ... However, son John in 1880 census says his father was born in Ireland, and in 1900, 75 year old Mary says her father was born in Ireland.

Other tidbits of information .. Son Ephraim was married and had a son named Charles (born 1867) and a daughter Mary (born 1876) ... Son John had six children - Annie (1862), William (1865), Ida (1871), Ada also called "Minnie" (1873), and twins Porter and John B. born 1874 ... These children were in Nashville and St Louis and left very large families themselves ...

My new email address effective 16 Jan 2002 will be j.r.anderson@comcast.net
