Perhaps there is no connection but I am looking for information regarding my gg-grandfather, John M Connelly b Jun 14, 1837. It is said that he was originally from the Galway area and emigrated here to the Southeastern USA when he was 17. It is also said that he travelled here with a brother/relative by the name of Mike (Michael?) who left shortly thereafter in search of work and was not heard from again.
I have no information regarding John's direct family and apologize if this doesn't offer anything, I am primarily responding to vague similarities stated in Pat Connelly Lowe's reply.
