Hoping someone can help. So far all the people that I have been contacted by over the years, have not been able to prove who her parents were.
She was born May 3, 1826 and died July 27, 1896, she married William Beatty Parks, b Sept. 2, 1814, d Sept. 5, 1868, they had 10 children, she is from Mecklenburg Co, NC Both are buried in Poplar Tent Church Cemetery, Cabarrus Co., NC. Also buried there are his parents William Parks, d July 30, 1824, aged 54 yrs, 5 months, 22 days, and his wife Mary Parks, d March 6, 1846 aged 68 yrs.
Several people have stated that Harriet Freeman Gibbs was born earlier than 1826, and she was born in Burke Co., NC. That she had a brother named William Fullwood Gibbs, and they believe that it was he who was the bondsman mentioned on their marriage record. It just states "William F. Gibbs". It has been stated by several researchers that her parents were William Gibbs and Elizabeth Connley. I don't believe this to be correct, reason, there are no known Connley or Bellew or Fullwood names given to anyone or married to, on my family tree, and all family bibles or people that I have contacted in the family, state she was from Mecklenburg Co., NC
Harriet Freeman (nee Gibbs) Parks, was the mother-in-law to Rev. John Milton Gibbs, Sr. who died 1926, he married her daughter Ann Eliza(beth) Parks. She is also a mother-in-law to Thomas Wilson Garrison who married her daughter Margaret Pharr Parks, and to Hannah Jane Garrison who married her son William Beatty Parks II.
Anyone that has additional information about Harriet, with connections to the above surnames and others, please contact me. I would like to solve this crazy question once and for all!
