According to baptism records St. Patrick's RC church, Erie, PA, a Carrie Connell had a son bAug 1898 and gave him up for adoption Oct 1898. Father unknown. Baby's name was listed as Joseph William Connell and adopted name was William Joseph McAndrew who d Erie 1985. Sisters of St. Joseph handled this adoption.
Erie adoption records list mother's name as Cornell but believe the "r" may have misread.
A Thomas Connell lived directly behind the adoptive family during that time frame but don't know who his children were. Have been trying to unravel this mystery for years, any help will be greatly appreciated.
