Connell's of Co. Cork
Posted by: Daniel D. Murphy Date: March 24, 1999 at 19:08:22
  of 1939

My Great-great-grandfather was Maurice Connell who married Mary Lavallan. They lived in Ballygarvan, Co. Cork, near the site of Cork Airport. They had at least five children: Hannah (my ggrandmother; born 9-20-1855), Mary (b. 11-16-1855), John (b. 7-5-1857), James (b. 9-91860), and Abina (b. 7-20-1862; married Maurice Hogan of Douglas).
My Grandmother married Bat Dempsey of Ballyfeard, Co. Cork (just north of Kinsale) on Feb. 7, 1877 and raised a family on his farm in Ballyfeard. Hannah and three of her children died of TB sometime between 1901 and 1911. The remaining children were sent to live with Abina and Her husband in Douglas. Any info on Hannah's brothers and sisters as well as Maurice Connell's family would be very much appreciated. I also am looking for info on the Lavallan family if anyone has a connection. Thank you, and good luck in your search.
