There is a very remote cemetery near Macomb, Pottawatomie Co. OK named Mount Zion. It is located in the middle of a 640 acre section with no road leading to it and can be accessed only by climbing over a fence and walking 1/2 mile through densely wooded land.

In a section of this cemetery is an area enclosed by a fence with 8 graves. Four of the graves have marked tombstones. Four of the graves are marked only by sandstone rocks with no inscriptions. The four marked graves are:
(1) Caleb Connell, b. Oct 21, 1835, d. Sept 14, 1896 (upright, gray stone).
(2) Florence Johnson, b. March 20, 1896, d. Dec 26, 1896 (small concrete stone).
(3) Alice Johnson, b. Oct 27, 1890, d. March 23, 1893 (small gray granite stone)
(4) John Connell, b. June 26, 1875, d. July 24, 1909.

I have no connection to any of these people, but thought that someone out there doing family research might be looking for them. Someone has visited these graves during the past few years because they are marked by some orange ribbons.

I discovered the Connell graves a few years ago when my sisters and I went to the cemetery to see the graves of some of our family. When we started walking through the woods toward the cemetery we noticed some orange ribbons hanging from tree limbs - they marked a trail to the cemetery. When we got to the cemetery, the orange ribbons were also marking the fenced section of the cemetery where the Connell graves are located.
