I've just discovered a John James Connell was buried in the same grave as my g-grandparents and believe he must have been a friend or neighbour of my g-grandmother who owned the lair (I'm told it was common, especially among poorer Irish families to sell lair space to others). Our family are planning on erecting a stone as the grave is currently unmarked, and so I'm trying to gather and verify some basic info on the other inhabitants to add them on too. However I can't locate a death ceritificate for this man at all. In the record he is listed as John James Connell. He was buried 3rd August 1940. He would probably have lived in the Gorbals area of Glasgow (my g-grandparents lived in Warwick street, off Norfolk Street) and would very likely have been an Irish Catholic. Since he only died in 1940, he may have children still living (if he died young) or at least grandchildren, and I'm hoping the name (or something like it! I'm doubting the accuracy of the record now) might be familiar to someone. If so get in touch :) Lora. Notify Administrator about this message?
