I have some information on the Connells that went to Texas from Missouri in the late 1850s.
Five of William M. Connells sons, William Joseph, James, Joshua, Caleb and Asa, formed a wagon train shortly after his death in 1857 and headed for Texas. The ended their trip at Center Point, Hamilton Co. One went to Austin to petitioned the Governer for "league" of land to be devided among the members of the wagon train. The land stayed in the Connell family name until 1931 In Hamilton County, Center Point is 14 or 15 miles out of Goldwaite, toward the town of Hamilton.
As told to Maxine Connell by Albert Austin Connell, Joshua's great-grandson.
James was my great-great-grandfather.
Good Luck. Mike.
