I don't know much about the Connaways. John Monroe Connaway (b. 1829) was born in Georgia, I think. He married Alcy Ann Jackson 2/11/1849 in Newton Co. GA and they had a girl, Mary, born 1/10/1859, I think in GA. They came to Texas in the 1870's. I have been told Mary and Francis Marion Thompson were married in Hill Co. TX in about 1874, but I can't find it anywhere. The Connaway's are listed on the 1880 Hill Co., TX census. I have census records from Newton Co. GA for 1820, 1830,1840 showing a William and a John Connaway. I have an 1850 Hatchett Creek, Coosa Co. AL census record showing my John, Alcy, and William (b. 1850). I also have an 1850 Newton Co. GA census record showing a John Conway (b. 1805) and his family. This is not my John. Maybe yours. None of the names of your family seem to be in my family. But we can always keep looking. Thanks for your response.

Ann
