I don't think that would be the same William Connaway. Did yours marry Priscilla Etheridge? The info I do have and have found documented is that my William married Priscilla Etheridge(b. Oct 11, 1816) in Nash County, NC, 1832. Together they had 4 sons, all listed as born in Nash County, NC. The second son, James T. was born 1836, and is my 2nd great grandfather. I do not have any more info on William, but on census records for James T., he lists his parents as being born in NC/SC. I know that Priscilla had gone to Gibson County, TN prior to 1850, in which year her daughter was born to her and her second husband, James Step (Stepp). They were married in Gibson County, TN. I cannot find William on the TN census.
