I am trying to find the parents of my great grandfather Samuel Connally born in NE GA most likely in the 1860s.. Family lore has it that Samuel was an orphan who kept his birth name. He married an orphan named Lucinda Palestine Holcomb. I am wondering if perhaps great granddad was the child of one of the many Connallys who perished in the War Between the States?

I am grateful for any info or leads.
