JOHN DIXON " J.D.” CONN, born November 14, 1919, in Sabine County, Texas went to be the Lord on Tuesday October 23, 2001. Mr. Conn retired after working 33 years in the Maintenance Department as a carpenter for Baylor College of Medicine. He was as member of the Baptist Church and served as a deacon for 45 years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the 90th division, and participated in the D-Day invasion of Normandy, France landing on Utah beach. J.D. is preceded in death by his parents Johnny A. and Allie Conn, brother Arnold W. ”Doc" Conn and baby daughter Gloria Sue. J.D. is survived by his wife of 55 years, Earline Bennett Conn, daughter Sharon Conn Gage, son and daughter-in-law John Michael and Kathy Conn. Grandchildren Jennifer Gunter and husband J.D. Gunter, Clinton Gage, Kaylen Conn and Laura Conn. Sisters Maureen Travis and Clara Johnson. Brother and sister-in-law Jack and Margaret Conn Sister-in-Yvonne Conn, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Neva and Rudolph Conn, along with other loving family members and many friends. The family will receive friends Thursday October 25, 2001 from 6:00 -9:00 p.m. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Klein.
