Abstracts of court records 1779-1786 of Old Tryon/Rutherford Co. NC have a James CONN (b.before 1764) --I believe he was sheriff
There also was a John SCOTT serving on juries. And, possibly a John SCOTT Jr.
In additionn there were McClures, Richard and John. .
I am trying to determine if these might be parents or grandparents of my James Conn SCOTT born 1812 KY.
The Tryon Co. NC only existed from 1769 to 1779. Then Rutherford and Lincoln Co. NC divided the territory and Tryon no longer existed. Records of Old Tryon are supposedly in Lincoln Co. NC archives.
