Hello to Stephen Conlon and Marion Hughes. I have just seen your messages concerning the Conlon families of Holywell, North Wales (four years later)!
I am a descendant of the Conlons of Holywell, ggg-grandparents were Anthony Conlon born Ireland (Co. Mayo?) c.1842 and Bridget Carroll, Liverpool, born c. 1844. They married in Holywell. Their son Michael Francis Conlon (I think commonly known as Francis)born Holywell c.1866 married Mary Agnes Hesketh born Wigan 1869. They moved from Primrose Hill in Holywell to Winter's Row. Their first child Mary Catherine Conlon married George Lloyd Jones of Greenfield where they lived for the remainder of their days bringing up a large brood - like their parents and grandparents. Thier daughter, Mary Stella Jones was my paternal grandmother and also lived out her days in Greenfield. My grandmother recalled her mother often visited her brother who had moved with his family to Liverpool; apparently visited every Saturday. The brother was possibly Thomas Joseph Conlon, although she did have 4 brothers. I think they lived in West Derby.
The earliest I have for the Conlons is Anthony Conlon's father, John, born Ireland c. 1798. I would love to hear from anyone else with a connection. My father fondly recalls his Liverpool Conlon cousins who visited him in North Wales during the 1950's and early 1960's.
