First Generation

1. Unknown Conley.

He married Unknown.

Family verbal history states that the parents of Lawrence, Stoneweall, Jackson and William Conley were stricken with Cholera just after moving to Oklahoma from Tenn. and died. They are said to be burried in Coalgate Oklahoma. Thier names remain unknown but there is a Conley family in the 1880 census with simular names to these children living in Grayson County Texas.

After the parents died sometime after 1878, Stonewall and Jackson went to live with relatives in California (unknown), and Lawrence and Albert were taken in by a Whitt Johnson who lived in Spencerville. There did end up being a W. Johnson in the 1880 census in Grayson County Texas listed on the same page as the Conley family referred to as a possible link as the parents but the birth year of W. Johnson does not match up with the Whit Johnson burried in Spencerville, OK.

They had the following children:

2 i. Lawrence Albert Conley

ii. Jackson Conley;

iii. Stonewall Conley;

3 iv. William (Willie) Conley

Second Generation

1. Lawrence Albert Conley.

Family history notes that Lawrence died in a wagon accident around 1912. Another account passed down on the Boyd family side says that he was killed in the line of duty. According to Salley Mae's (Lawrences daughter) grand daughter, Lawrence worked on a freight wagon. Joyce Odom grand-daughter of Lawrence says she remembers bing told that Lawrence was burried at Ft. Townson at the military cemetary. A trip to Ft. Townson and the actual Fort there showed no evidence of him burried there in Nov. 2008. Also no evidence or record for him at the community cemetary in the town of Ft. Townson. The man in charge of the community cemetary did say that there were a total of 69 un-marked graves in the community cemetary when he had taken over the care of it. It did also state that when he was a boy (he was 80 yrs old in 2008), he remembered that they moved the graves of the military persons from the actual Fort at Ft. Townson to a military holspital on the other side of Wagner, Oklahoma. According to article in The Fort Towson Enterprise August 11, 1905, soldiers graves were removed to the national cemetery at Fort Gibson when the Federal troops abandoned the fort. But this happened in 1905 and Lawrence died in 1912. On the other hand there have been no military records found in the name of Lawrence Conley yet. Also had researched cemeteries in Spencerville area, all but one just north of spencerville as the road was closed for construction. The six small cemeteries in the Ft. Townson and Spencerville areas had no common surnames with our family line on any of the marked graves although all had several either unmarked or graves with simply a blank stone or un-legible stones.

Lawrence Conley shows up in the 1910 Census with Eldred and Salley Mae. It shows him being 32 yrs old. This would make his year of birth as 1878 rather than the 1874 that was thought to be his year of birth. This date of birth of 1878 would help link Lawrence to a simular Conley family in the 1880 census. The 1910 Census shows both he and his parents were born in Tennessee. It showed he was a farmer. It showed him living in the township of Kiamici, Pushmataha County, Oklahoma.

There is a family of Conley's in the 1880 census that have names of children simular to Lawrance and his brothers but the definate connection is still trying to be made to link these as the missing parents of Lawrence Conley.

They had the following children:

2 i. Paul Lane Conley

3 ii. Sally Mae (Aunt patsy) Conley

4 iii. Sadie Rae Conley

Third Generation

2. Paul Lane 7 Conley. Son of Lawrence Albert Conley & Eldred Esbert Boyd. Born 15 Oct 1912. Died 1 Jan 1993.

Paul shows up in the 1930 census. It was difficult to find him at first until a bright idea had me look under the last name of Blagg rather than Conley. Paul had been listed as a Blagg with Olen and Eldred, sister Sadie Mae and other children from Olen and Eldred. Evidentially the census worker was either in a hurry, or the Blaggs in a hurry to get rid of them and they wrote the same birth state for everyone in the household being Texas. It shows that Paul was 17 yrs and Sadie R. was 19 yrs old at the time. It listed both Olen Blag and Paul as General Farm Workers.

He married Matty Helen Coursey, daughter of Henry Coursey Coursey & Clara Florence Huie, 15 Feb 1936 in Sulpher Bluff, Texas. Born 7 Dec 1919 in Cleveland Community of Delta County, Texas. Died 21 Feb 2006 in Hopkins County Memorial Hospital, Texas.

3. Sally Mae (Aunt patsy) Conley. Daughter of Lawrence Albert Conley & Eldred Esbert Boyd. Born 18 Feb 1908 in Antlers, OK. Died 28 Jan 1998 in Riverside Co. California. Buried in Crestlawn Cemetery, Riverside, Riverside County, CA.

She married William Robert Coggins, son of Edward Coggins & Ada Bell Blagg. Born 10 Jan 1902 in Sunset, Montague Co. TX. Died 4 Apr 1963 in Corona, Riverside Co CA. Buried in Crestlawn Cemetery, Riverside, Riverside Co,CA.

They had the following children:

i. Jaw W. Coggins; Born 2 Dec 1924 Hollis, Harmon Co., OK. 1924 He first married Marian. He second married Angelina Josephine Paradise, 2 Sep 1952. He third married Della Mae Devault, married sometime after 1960

ii. Billie Maxine Coggins; Born 9 Feb 1928 in Blanchard, OK. She married Dalton Allen.

iii. Betty Jean Coggins; Born 4 Aug 1930 in Blanchard, OK. She married Joseph Cassle.

iv. Gaylon Boyd Coggins; Born 9 Jan 1944 in Riverside Co. CA. Died 8 Sep 1991 in Riverside Co. CA. He married Lila Kelly.

4. Sadie Rae Conley. Daughter of Lawrence Albert Conley & Eldred Esbert Boyd. Born 29 May 1911. Died 4 Oct 1997 in Norman, Cleveland, Oklahoma.

She married Bullard Puckett.

They had the following children:

i. Patsy Ruth Puckett;

ii. Cooke Puckett;

iii. Harvey Puckett;

iv. Glenda Rae Puckett;

v. Donald Puckett;

vi. Mary Ann Puckett; She married Tevis.
