Not sure who John Conklin's parents were. I find him in Jefferson Co Pa 1840 and 1850, Crawford Co Pa 1860, and Allegan Co MI 1870, with one stop off in Ohio in 1862(last child was born in that state). I do know John Cionklin was born in New York state 1800. Tell me more about the Conklin family you mentioned.
