the story in my family is that we came to ny in 1855 (Michael Conklin) from County King's (now Offaly) Lamonahan Parrish Ireland, and the name in Irish was/is Coughlan. moved quickly from ny to s.michigan and was a farmer. His wife was Ellen Harmon, their son was Thomas (wife, Elizabeth Egan)their son James Edward Conklin was my G grandfather.
