I am searching for parents, sisters, brothers, heirs of Robert Davis,
born in New Hampshire in 1817, moved to Meigs County, Ohio, died in Lincoln
County, Nebraska 1883. Robert is "supposed" to be the grandson of a signer
of the Declaration of Independence. Its a long-held family story, and I
would like to nail down the truth or fiction of it. Robert's daughter told
her granddaugter this story, so it seems to ring true. We are still searching
for the families of the children of the first marriage-an on-again off-again
search which we have been persuing for 15 years. Thanks.
When Robert died in l883, his estate was not completely settled. Louisa CONKLIN,
his daughter, petitioned for settlement around l888, and was
living in Oxford, Kansas. I believe she may have been in Kansas
as early as 1873, when her sister, Harriet, bore a child in Chanute, Kansas.
Through the Brundage forum I was able to reach members of Harriet's family. I hope
to find some of Louisa's descendants via this one.

I have contact with most of the heirs from the second family, but we have no
idea about the first family--have been looking for many years.
