Hello! Don't know for sure about George Conklin, but a number of Conklins came from the Saratoga Cty, NY area in the 1830s/40s to Grundy Co Ill. area including, Henry Conklin and Carpenter G. Conklin. I have some ancestry info on these Conklins. Let me know if I can be of help.
