I am interested in you VA Conklin's beause there do net seem to be many there in the 1700's
My Elijah Conklin born 18 OCT 1798 VA (gun smith 1850 Claiborne County, MS census); died 16 DEC 1858 Grand Gulf, MS; married Harriet Wilson born 2 JAN 1815 (Ohio 1850 Claiborne County, MS census or MS LDS site); died 10 DEC 1871 Vicksburg, MS of cancer.
He apparently went to Ohio from VA and then to Mississippi. From the birth dates & locations of his children he may have moved between Ohio and Mississippi several times. After his death his wife and children moved to Rodney, Jefferson County, Mississippi just south of Grand Gulf where he had died.
