Ezra Conklin & Gertrude Myers
In 1920 Census, Gr.Aunt Gertrude (Myers) Conklin and her
husband Ezra Conklin were enumerated in East Orange, Essex
Co., N.J. Gertrude's brother Orin Myers was living in their
household (Gertrude and Orin were in 1900 Census with their
parents John and Ella M. in Wyoming, Luzerne Co., PA.)
Gertrude and Ezra were childless, in their 30's in 1920.
Orin's obit. stated he was once an office boy for Thomas
A. Edison. Sure enough, in 1920 Census, Edison was living
in West Orange, Essex Co., N.J.- on the other side of town
from Orin Myers. Gertrude was born in 1888.
In 1920 and 1930 Censuses another Gertrude, also born in
1888 was enumerated in Essex Co., N.J. in Bloomfield and
West Caldwell. This woman was born in Sweden and is listed
on Social Security Death Index, wife of David E. Conklin.
The two Gertrude Conklins were confusing.
If anyone has any info on Ezra Conklin and wife Gertrude
Myers Conklin, where they moved to after 1920 Census and
what became of them, it would be greatly appreciated, as
it's the main link to an adoption/guardianship case.
