Dana,

Thanks for your feedback. I' m wondering if your husband is part of our tree since there couldn't have been many Conklin's that changed their name from Coughlin or O'Coughlin (for my family this is only a rumor - I am trying to find proof). Most of my Conklin relatives now live in Queens or are on Long Island (except for a few that live in Florida and one in Pittsburgh).

I am digging through census records right now - around the 1870's - moving steadly back to when we came over from Ireland. As far as I know two brothers carried on the family name - Edward and John Andrew. I am from John Andrew's family - his children were as follows (see if your husband recognises these names) Joe, John (my Grandfather), Mamie, Lotte, Barbrie, Catherine, Richard and Hardy (some of these were nicknames that they were known by). John, my grandfather had a son named Vincent who is my father.

Edward's wife was Ida and their children were John, Fred, Arthur, Mabel, Ruth, and Edward. I don't know this side of the family although I do carry on some dialog with Edward's son Edward (Edward III).

I hope to hear from you. Your husband could be part of the tree that I know nothing about... and then maybe not.

Take Care,

Jeff Conklin
