Henry Conkling

I have recently started to research my Conkling roots and I am
stuck. My gg-grandfather was Henry Smith Conkling b.3/24/1797
in Greene County (now Albany Co.) New York. According to the 1800
Census of Greene 7 Conklings are listed Edward; Egons; Enos;
Henry; Israel; Jabit; and Jacob. Unless the family moved between
1797 and 1800 one of these men must be his father, but according to family
tradition his fathers name was Cineus(Sineus). I think his mothers
maiden name may have been Smith which would explain his middle
name. Can anyone help? I am willing to share the rest of my research.
