Conklin's of Louisiana

I am searching for my CONKLIN ancestors from Louisana. The only name I have is Ellen Conklin who married Frank Boyd from Alabama. He had 3 children from his first wife. Frank and Ellen either met on his way to Texas or they met in Texas. They settled in Bee County Texas where they had a son Charles Boyd, he is my grandmother's father. Charles married Betha Jacobs from DeWitt County Texas and they settled in Port Lavaca Texas. I don't know any exact dates but my grandmother was born in 1915.

I am looking for the family of Ellen Conklin from Louisana. The "family rumor" was that they had a plantation in Louisiana but it was destroyed during the Civil War.

Any information would be helpful.
