Lawrence Conklin's website is very impressive, but the genealogy does not agree with MacKenzie.(Of course, we know that MacKenzie is often (but not always) wrong.) MacKenzie says that Timothy (Nathaniel, Timothy, Timothy, Timothy, John) died in 1816 leaving children Benjamin, James and Timothy. This makes it a little difficult for him to have had a son Charles, b. ca. 1828.
