Yes I found Granville CONGROVE in 1900 in Morning Sun, Louisa Co, IA living near my John Congrove. CONGROVE, Granville b. Oct 1830 69 VA VA VA My John Congrove died in 1900 so he didn't make the census but the 1895 Morning Sun, Louisa Co, IA had him with his wife & kids at age 66, born OH VA VA. From those 2 census records, I guess we can assume that the parents, Thomas & Sally CONGROVE, moved from VA to OH between Oct 1830 and 1833. I also recently discovered that my John CONGROVE had married twice and both of them had the same first name which is why no one picked up on it. (I finally sent away for his wife's death certificate) Here's what I have: Feb 2, 1854 John CONGROVE, s/o THomas & Sally, Birthplace Meigs Co, OH, age 21 to Mary Jane LINSCOTT, adopted daughter of Phebe COLEMAN, born Meigs Co, OH, aged 14. Marriage License application: Feb 25, 1869 John CONGROVE to Mary Jane COLEMAN. Dunmore W Wilson, Meigs Co, OH (Mary Jane COLEMAN was the d/o Willard COLEMAN & Rachel Ann McDOLE. Mary Jane LINSCOTT was the d/o Jane Coleman and Anthony LINSCOTT. Jane died and their baby daughter, Mary Jane, was raised by her grandmother, Phebe Coleman -- who was also the mother of Willard Coleman) Quite confusing. Notify Administrator about this message?
