Dr. Beers,
I am relativly new at geneology and computers, but I surely am having a wonderful time as an ancient old
grandmother with " too much time on her hands", and limited physically what I can do.
Ms. Rose has been of much help to me, I had information from an uncle with supposedly the correct line of descent from Daniel Cone,[Mass.-Conn], but further study and help by ones as yourself, I only have documented proof of going back to a Capt. William Cone, [N.C.&S.C.] Rev. soldier.[and there is one person who consistenly denies that, but that is another matter.
I am really posting to you as I have a great interest in your forthcoming book on The Cones. I am a history student also, perhaps student is the wrong description as U. of Ga. 1945 is a very long time ago,eh? But , at least, has always been my favorite topic of those sorts of things.
When you publish your book will you please let me be one of the first, outside your family to purchase a copy.
I will be eagerlywaiting to hear from you.
I have made quite a lot of progress on my Exley line, as well as Tinsley, McLeod, Bourne, and Butler. Are either of these are any interest to you?As we started out as a nation with relativetly few families it is interesting how the lines mingle and intermingle from Mass. Conn.Va.N.C.S.C. and Ga. is lt not.
Surely , as an aside, are you a football fan...N.C.State's former couch Mike O'Cains's wife, Nancy
grew up next door, and as a daughter.
Good luck in your hunt,
Ruth Exley McCormick
