from the Kennebec Journal, Maine RANDOLPH -- Thelma Louise Condon Harriman, of 137 Water St., died Jan. 26, 2004, at Maine General Medical Center, of a heart attack. She was born April 19, 1915, in Mapleton, the daughter of William and Pearl Griffin Condon. She graduated from Mapleton High School in 1932 and attended Gates Business School in Augusta. She moved to Whitefield and met her future husband at a dance in Kings Mills. She married Keith Arlington Harriman in New Hampshire, June 20, 1937. She retired in 1975 from the state Central Computer Services, where she was an accountant. She had been employed by several other state agencies, including the Civil Defense and Highway departments. Prior to that, she had been a bookkeeper at Clark Buick, Blouin Motors and for Hallowell & Webb. She and her husband owned and operated a fish market in downtown Gardiner for several years. She prepared tax returns from her home office until 1985. She had been a member of the Randolph United Methodist Church, and previously of the Gardiner Universalist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends, playing cards and Beano, and antiquing. She and her husband enjoyed traveling to their camps near Moosehead Lake, on Cobbossee Lake in Manchester and in Brooklin. She was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Rachel McKenna and Shirley MacDougal; her brother, George Condon; a grandson, Barry Woodward; and her adopted daughter, Beatrice Sansoucy. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Keith Harriman, of Randolph; her daughters, Sandra Woodward of New Hampshire, Sylvia Myshrall of Pittston and Betty Turner of West Gardiner; 11 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Staples Funeral Home in Gardiner, where a service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Arlene Tully, pastor of Randolph United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Gardiner. Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army of Augusta or the Randolph United Methodist Church. Notify Administrator about this message?
