My father's family emigrated from Kildare (originally from Cork) in the late 1840s. They settled in northwest Illinois in the Dixon area. Fairly close to Davenport, IA, right? We know so little about the family in the US (more familiar with the distant Irish relatives, actually). We've contacted long-lost Condon relatives in Dixon, but have had no response. Very frustrating, but don't want to force the issue. I'm interested in possible connection to Iowa branch.
