Trish this could be a coincidence, but a Condon family from Mitchelstown married into the Hogan family.A Patrick Condon c1843 (son of William) married Johanna Hogan on 13.2.1868 in South Australia. There is a wonderful story about Johanna saying goodbye to Patrick on the ship. She was heart-broken that he was leaving for Australia.Another lass on the boat didn't want to go to Australia, so they swapped places and Johanna came out with Patrick.Johanna's name does not appear on the ship's manifest, but I'm sure the other girl's name is there, if we only knew who it was.
I have found the following Hogans in the Griffith's Valuation:
Upper Cork St
11 Catherine Hogan
Robert St
26 Johanna Hogan
Mulberry Lane
54 Michael Hogan
102 Johanna Hogan
111 James Hogan
I have a lot of information on Patrick Condon's family if you would like to know more.
