Chris, I don't hace a lot of information. My father often mentioned that John Condon was called Seargent. I remember reading in a publication that a number of Douro settlers volunteered to help fight the Rebellion of 1837. John Condon was listed as one of the volunteers. Because the Rebellion was short lived they did not see action. I am assuming he received the Seargent tag here. Mark
