This is not my family, but I know someone who is about to sell a Civil War Sword *Union) that has S. S. Condit on it.
In checking records there is a Simon S. Condit who received a Civil War Pension. He moved west from Washington Co., PA.
There was also a Samuel S. Condit listed, but I was unable to locate further information on him.
He will probably be placing it on eBay in a few days. I thought there might be a descendant that might like to own the sword and keep it in the family.
